If you are a Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom who served in Iraq or Afghanistan, did you know you are eligible to use your VA Home Financing Benefit?
You’re also eligible to use your benefit if you served in the following conflicts:
If you did not serve in any of the above conflicts you may still be eligible if you meet the following qualifications:
Peacetime service from:
- 07/26/47 to 06/26/50
- 02/01/55 to 08/04/64
- 05/08/75 to 09/07/80 (enlisted)
- To 10/16/81 (officer)
You must have served at least 181 days of continuous active duty and been discharged with honorable conditions.
If you served less than 181 days and were discharged due to a service connected disability then you may still be eligible.
Selected Reserves and guard members are eligible after 6 years of service unless the member was placed on active duty for one of the above conflicts and served more than 90 days on active duty.
Other eligibility factors:
Surviving spouse of a veteran who died while in service or form a service connected disability and has not remarried.
A spouse of a service person missing in action or a prisoner of war.
Eligibility may also be established for certain U.S. Citizens who served in the armed forces of a government allied with the United States in WWII.

A.Public Health Service Officers
B.Cadets at the United States Military, Air Force, or Coast Guard Academy.
C.Midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy
D.Officers of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
E.Merchant seaman with WWII service
